Pre-Christmas Fun

So before we took off for Christmas we got to spend some time with some of our favorite people....Nick, Brit, Carson, & Kaylee. They came up and we went to dinner and did some light shopping and an art project. Anyways while at dinner Carson got ahold of the camera and actually got some cute pics. Can't wait to do it again.

Christmas come and gone so fast

Christmas changes as we, as people get older, the excitment of getting up seeing what Santa brought diminishes and its easy to get caught up in all the commercilized stress. But then there are time when it is all put into perspective. We were lucky enough to spend christmas in Las Vegas with the entire family including my wonderful grandma and grandpa. But there was something wrong that I am just going to have to get used to. I grew up in the same house my whole life, woke up each Christmas morning to the same place and about a year and a half ago my parents moved to Vegas I would say this has been hard on everyone involved but it would be an understatement. To go home for the holidays for me is to see all the people you grew up with, visit with the neighbors, going to the ward Christmas Eve party, sleeping in the room I grew up in, and if we were lucky enough to have snow sledding behind the 4-wheeler until we couldn't feel our fingers. Well the harsh reality that hit me this year is that life will never be like that again. I go home to a place where I can't find anything, I know no one, and there is no snow. But in that moment when I think of all the things I miss I am reminded of the one true thing that matters regardless of the location the people who love you the most and have been there all along will always be in the place that I call HOME.

Finally a new post

So we hope that this post finds everyone enjoying their holiday season and remembering the true meaning of Christmas. As for Matt and I we are very much enjoying the time Matt has off of school and what better way to do that but by serving others. For those of you who don't know I am a manager at a nursing home and last night Matt and I were given the opportunity to take the residents down to see the lights at Temple Square. The lights were amazing as always but the added spirit of the special residents just made it that much more magical. We are getting excited to see the family for Christmas and now that it has snowed it is making Christmas actually feel real. Matt and I feel very blessed this year to be blessed with of coarse family, friends, and our health, but also two stable jobs that provide for us. We are truely more blessed than we know.
