18 Months!

Not that it is a surprise to anyone but I still am always wondering where the time goes. Our little Hallie turned 18 months on Saturday! And yesterday at her appt she proved why we can still call her "little." She currently weighs 19 lb 15 oz (2%) so close to 20 lbs but not quite yet! Height was 31.5 which is in the 30's somewhere. If you cant tell Im more concerned with her weight. Developmentally she continues to be above average so our pediatrician said we will just keep doing what we are doing and maybe someday she will gain wait...maybe? This has been a really fun age. Everyday brings new fun things and also new challenges. Hallie has recently decided that she loves the outdoor and would like nothing more than to spend her whole day outside so hopefully spring will come and stay soon so we can do that. We are getting ready to plant our garden and are still working on being good at gardening for sure. Some of Hallie's more recent changes have included being either more adventurious or clumsy(Im not sure which), becoming obsessed with leap frog dvds(she would watch them all day if we let her), her vocabulary is crazy but at the same time not always clear to understand. We bought a Treehouse Museum pass and my goal has been to take her once a week just to give her some play/imagination/social time. So far she has really enjoyed it. We are getting ready to get rid of the high chair and sit her at the table before she decides to jump from the high chair. She is a huge helper some of her favorites are putting laundry away, vaccuming, and mopping the floor. She has become like my mini shadow and much more attached than she ever has been. She always cries when we drop her off at the babysitter(usually briefly) it still breaks my heart every time. She has had more mellow days where she just wants to sit on your lap and read or watch a movie(Im never opposed to cuddle time). We are completely off the bottle(Hallie didn't even care) but we are still attached to the binki and I have decided that Im fine with that we will get rid of it at some point. She would suck on it all day if you would let her but she only gets it at naptime and bedtime, so someday it will be gone. I have been doing a lot more crafting lately, it has been fun to find and explore my more domestic side. I feel like I can never quite put into words all of the things Hallie is doing and accomplishing. I just want to remember every minute. My talented sister in law took some 18 month pics hopefully I will get them to post soon.

Battle Wounds

So today while we were outside playing Hallie climbed the stairs into the garage but happened to fall down the other side on to the concrete, luckily her face broke her fall! The swelling is starting to go down already so hopefully it will heal quickly. I think becoming a nurse was one of the best things I ever did to prepare to be a mom!

Talking on the Phone and bubblebaths!

The older Hallie gets the more and more into girl things she gets. Talking on someones phone whether real or otherwise has been one of Hallie's favorite things for quite some time now but I realized upon scrapbooking the other day that I had never gotten a picture or mentioned that. The picture was easy to get because this is a typical and frequent occurance at our house. I don't think words can describe it...pretty sure we are in trouble.
Notice if you read the post after this that she is still wearing her skirt from church.

She even laughs like something that was said was funny

Legs crossed and everything

Doesn't every kids have or need a bubble bath pic. Tonight was the 1st bubble bath she has ever had, needless to say she throughly enjoyed herself.

Projects

And I put these backwards but I was going to say maybe best for last...but I guess that really doesn't work does it but you get the idea. Here is Hallie wearing hers before church today.

A picture of the cute fabric close up.

So I made matching ones for Hallie, Alivia, & Kaylee unintentionally. So I originally made Alivia one, I took the pattern off of one of Hallie 0-3 month skirts so when it was done I asked Hallie to come over so I could try it on her and it fit which ment it wasn't going to fit Alivia so I was going to fix it and couldn't get Hallie to take it off she kept saying "me me wear" and I couldln't get it off until bath time that night when I finally convinced her she couldn't wear it to bed. I love that she is getting into the more girly things. Anyways then when I showed Brit she asked if I would make a matching one for Kaylee(which thrilled me because I had hoped she would like it so I was more than happy to make Kaylee one to) So someday soon hopefully we will get a pic of them all wearing them together! So below are all the skirts lined up it reminded me of the 3 bears ha ha.

These are some new fun hair things that I found that can add a little more fun to the wardrobe I made some for my new darling niece Alivia and some for Hallie since she is still lacking in hair to do fun things with and the best part they require no sewing machine.

This blanket it for my soon to be 1st nephew on my side of the family. There aren't many "cute" things out there you can make for a boy but I like this one.

This darling high waisted skirt I just couldn't resist making one for Hallie I am proud to say it is the 1st article of clothing I think I have ever made and it turned out quite well.

So some people have asked about some of the projects I have been working on lately so here they are in no particular order but I feel like I am become so domestic and it makes me feel like I am bettering myself(because sometimes I feel as a stay at home mom I struggle with that).

Our Sweet Hallie...17 months

Hallie is such a joy to have as part of our little family watching her learn and grow is truely a blessing. It is always hard to believe that our first baby is no longer a baby. She makes it well know quite frequently that she is watching everything that we do.
I have been sewing a lot lately. I feel like it is a way for me to improve myself and I have been quite surprised at how easy it has come(I guess I'm lucky I come from crafty genes). Now one of Hallie's favorite things is to pretend she is sewing. I catch her playing all the time and I am so grateful that she plays so carefully that I don't hesitate in letting her do it.

Hallie has become very into puzzles she frequently now on top of sitting to read will sit and do puzzles...could we be any luckier.

While in Vegas we found a swing and we couldn't pass it up. Hallie loves it and loves to swing anytime she gets a chance. This month she has found her love for the outdoors and cries anytime its time to come inside I figured this would happen at some point hopefully the weather will continue to improve so we can spend more time enjoying the swing as well as the fresh air.

Matt's New Truck

Well sometimes in life thing do work out just so perfectly and Matt getting his new truck through his work right now was just one of those instances. We traded in our car this last weekend and were at a crossroads of trying to decide whether to just have one car or try to find a small car for matt to commute in when the best possible thing happened. Matt's boss called him in and gave him the keys to his new truck, needless to say matt was thrilled. We had hoped and anticipated that this might happen but the timing couldn't have been better. Here is Matt with his pride and joy of a truck. Matt works so hard and he deserves it and so much more. Love you babes! You can't tell he likes it can you?

March

You would think that march would mean improving weather...well not on this night it snowed about 4 inches! It was beautiful to watch but a mess to drive in. But all and all March has started as a good month. We were able to get together with the Bennetts and Browers to celebrate brits b-day the big 30. We enjoyed good company and food. We need to get together more often.

Vegas Weekend

We were lucky enough to take a long weekend and head to sunny Las Vegas. The weather was perfect and Hallie insisted that we spend most of our time outside. There is something about being home with your entire family that just gives you a happy comfortable feeling. Now don't get me wrong we all have our faults and sometimes don't get along perfectly but in true family style all is forgiven in a matter of minutes. We just have so much fun together. Friday we did some early "yard saling" looking for baby stuff for Nic. She got so much stuff she doesn't know what to do with and most of it for FREE..can't beat that. Saturday we hit more yard sales, there were to many we couldn't get to all of them! That afternoon the boys went shooting while the girls played and got some much needed rest and relaxation.
Poor Hallie became a casualty of static electricity from jumping on the tramp so much, pretty funny though.

Poor Kimber works so hard were so glad she took the time to come to vegas so we could be together. She is so thoughtful on our way home she calle dto let me know she had full lunches packed and ready to go so we didn't have to stop for food. I don't know if thanks truely expresses how much that ment to us.

Hallie and her best friend Maddi(they never get to far from each other when their together. Maddi is so good to her)

After our playing we headed to Red Rock Buffet(no pics I was trying to calm our tired child until we got food) The variety and food was awesome. Thanks for an awesome weekend can't wait til the next one. Poor Hallie was so tired this has been her, still in her big girl bed, most of the day.
