4 Months

I can hardly believe it our little Hallie is 4 months old! We went to her appt earlier this week she is now 11 lbs 4 oz and 24 1/2 inches. She is still very small and skinny for her age which she totally gets from the brower side. The dr couldn't seems to get over how social she is. Hallie spent most of her time talking to the dr and listening as the dr talked to us. She loves people and doesn't like to be alone it doesn't matter who is within sight as long as she can see someone. She has become a mommy's girl especially when she is tired or doesn't feel well. She continues to be a very happy baby and makes being a mom pretty simple. She stayed with a babysitter for the first time this week and contrar to what I would like to believe she did survive and even seemed to enjoy herself. Nick & Brit let us use their exersaucer and she loves it she has been very good at standing and holding her neck up for some time now and so now she can stand and play in the exersaucer plus she can also see into the kitchen so she can be content while we cook, clean, or whatever. Its hard to believe that last year at this time we had just found out we were pregant, where does the time go? We can't imagine our lives without our little sweetheart she has made Matt and I better people and we hope that she thinks we are good parents.

Birthday Surprises and Remodeling

So lets just say that surprises aren't Matt's strong suit mostly for 2 reasons. #1 I am pretty observant and often ruin the surprise before it comes to pass. #2 Matt has always worked and gone to school full time so he hasn't had alot of time. But he succeeded to surprising me this weekend. We decided this year we are going to remodel the kitchen we ordered new countertops and are trying to pick a backsplash and tile. We wanted to start replacing the appliances also but decided we would wait so I thought. Wen t we got home from St. George we started to unpack I was talking to Matt in the kitchen when I realized we had a NEW microwave. I was shocked and the look on Matt's face was priceless when he realized I had had no idea and that his plan had succeeded. Way to go honey! So here is a pic of the new microwave it works tons better than the old one. We are looking forward to completing the updating minus the dust. More pics to come. Thanks babes your the best, love ya.

Happy Birthday to Me and 4 months

Family Pic

This past weekend I celebrated my 26th birthday I feel almost like I am at the age I shouldn't tell people how old I am but I don't feel old yet so until then I will share my age. Matt was able to get Friday off so Thursday we headed out of the yucky air and headed for sunny St. George to meet up with my entire family. We had a ton of fun. What I wanted most for my birthday was to spend it with my family and maybe a day to sleep in but that was maybe pushing it. On friday we spent a lot of time outside in the 60 degree weather I don't think Hallie knew what to think of the sun. Saturday once everyone arrived we went to lunch and then played games, went on walks, went swimming, and did all sorts of fun stuff. Later that evening we had cake. We had so much fun and can't wait to go again. In the above pic we decided to see how she did in just her stroller because by the time we got to St. George she was not liking her car seat. She loved it if you couldn't tell. Then of coarse we had to try on some sunglasses and she surprisingly left them on and even giggled and smiled we will see how long that lasts.

Crawling

My mom loves to spoil Hallie on this particular occassion she found her a swimsuit and of coarse we used it and went swimming although we were having to much fun to take pics.

Now Hallie really likes Nic, she seems like they have always had a little special bond going on. Nic thinks its because she looks a little like me but I think it may be a ll the attention she gives her. When Nic is around she is Hallie's second mom(practicing up as she calls it) Nic had Hallie smiling and giggling on several occasions. She will make a great mom someday but until them we will enjoy the attention.
Nic & Hallie

Hallie is getting to the point that I think she realizes when I'm not around so she was a little unsure of grandma at first but she later warmed up to her.

I remember being pregnant and thinking how it was so far away to have her be 4 months but the time has flown like crazy. She is so fun I will try to post more pics and what she is doing later but for now this will do. She is a very happy and smiley baby. For the most part she is content to play along but loves to be snuggled and of coarse paid attention to. She has very long eyelashes and big beautiful eyes that we just can't get over. We can't imagine our life without her she is such a perfect addition to the family.

Learning to let go...little by little

Hallie is changing so much we have so much fun staying home and playing. Here are some recent pics. She has started to grab onto objects so she can suck on them. She has also started pushing herself up really well.

We had a great weekend and were able to spend a lot of time with family and friends. Saturday one of my roommates from college is getting married and they had a shower for her it was good to see her it had been way to long.

Then we went down to watch uncle chris run. Hallie was not amused and quickly fell asleep but she did stay awake long enough to watch Chris run.

Hallie seems to be changing everyday. She is learning and growing so quickly I wish I could just freeze time but having been a mom now for almost four months I have learned that many things in life can wait when your little ones needs some love because when you turn around they aren't that little anymore. I returned to work last week if thats what you call it I have to work two shifts a month to maintain my nursing license. I have never really left Hallie and really have no desire to but ya have to learn sooner or later so Sunday Matt was left to be the mommy and daddy and he did a fabulous job he took great care of Hallie and even got to church on time. I don't know why I ever wondered if they would survive. I got home from work to find them cuddled on the couch it was so cute. I truely married the best guy for me.
After we got ready we headed to Salt Lake to see Josh & Becca's little guy get blessed. It was a beautiful blessing and so fun to get everyone togeter again

New Years Weekend

So Matt and I are not big New Years celebraters I guess you could say we choose to enter the new year as well rested as possible but over the weekend we headed for Idaho Falls since Matt's nephew Austin was being ordained into the priesthood. The weekend didn't exactly go the way we thought we ended up coming home early due to the fact that some of the kids had the stomch flu and we don't want anything to due with that. But before we came home we did get to have some fun we spent some time visiting and swimming. Hallie is a true Norr which is manifested by the fact she loves the water. We bought her a swimsuit since we knew we would be going swimming at the hotel which I thought she would last about ten minutes in well I was wrong. She loved it and even fell asleep sitting on my lap. Pictures are priceless

Friend Party

Who would have thought or even guessed 10 years ago that this is where we would be. The conversations have surely changed. Over Christmas weekend Brett and Liz were good enough to put together a friend party or a collection of babies. Last year there was only one baby, but this year a totally different story. Hallie was the youngest there, Judson's little boy(Rowe) is 2 days older, Brett's little girl is 10 days older, Breisha's little boy is about 3 weeks older, Kenny's little boy is about 7 months as well as Seth's little girl is about 7 months. We had a ball just visiting and catching up on what is going on in everyone's lives. The party has now become an annual event and we are hoping to do more get togethers like this one.

Happy "Halliedays"

So in the midst of all of the holiday fun Hallie turned 3 months old. I truely don't know where the time goes. She is becoming more fun everyday as she learns. She has now found her hands and sucks on them quite frequently. She is still a good eater and sleeper for the most part although I don't think we are far off from using cereal because she seems to wake up starving. As of Christmas day she now sleeps in her own room, yes she had slept in Matt and I's room until now mostly for me not her. The video monitor helps though. She gets better at smiling all of the time and on Dec 22nd laughed for the 1st time and has continued to get better at that. She loves to watch tv and play with her new play mat she got for christmas. Also the bumbo is a favorite while we are eating dinner or doing any kind of activity that she can watch(such a smart invention). She is nothing but a joy to have a round.

Christmas

On Christmas morning we celebrated with grandma and kelly and julie's family and afterwards headed to Bountiful to have Christmas dinner with the Brower's. We took a few of Hallie's gifts to open and opened a few from Nick/Brit and Kerry/Joy. We had a traditional Christmas dinner and watched a movie. We got some really cute pics of Hallie with Kaylee and Hallie even sat in Kaylee's new baby stroller.

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a little different this year. It was our year to stay in Northern Utah and our first with me not working and of coarse the 1st with Hallie so we decided to spend it a little different. While growing up we spent every Christmas Eve with my cousins and aunts and uncles on my mom's side and I really miss it(getting older sometimes sucks). So we did something a little like that. Kelly and Julie as well as Julie's parents were sweet enough to treat us like their own and make Christmas that much more special. We ate dinner(which as always was amazing) and visited, had the Christmas story acted out by the grand kids, and did a gift exchange. We then spent the night at grandma harris's. We took our stocking and our christmas eve gift to open with grandma. We really enjoyed ourselves and it made me feel a little more at home for the holidays. Thanks to everyone that took the time to make us feel so welcome you will never know how much it means.

First Trip to see Christmas Lights

With first Christmas's come alot of firsts and among the many is the trip to see the Christmas Lights. Most babies love lights, Hallie included. So one night we bundled her up in her snow outfit and headed for a family date night to the Odgen Village of lights. Hallie loved it and there were plenty of lights for her to look at. We had a great time but didn't stay long due to the cold. We stopped and got some warm food on the way home and thaw. Having a little family makes life so much more fun even though Hallie probably doesn't understand any of it.
