Swim Lessons

Under Water!!!!!

After about 30 minutes Hallie would get cold and snuggle right in..I love that

Holding on to the side.

Floating on her back
This past week we completed level 1 of infant swim lessons. Hallie can now float on her back, hold on to the side, hold her breath under water, and I hope has found a love for water. I think this class was so worth it. We also had a life jacket and CPR day where they put the kids in life jackets to get them used to it and then ran all the moms through what to do if you find you child in the pool and need to rescue them.

Mommy & Me Swim Class & teething

So awhile back I had heard about a swim class for kids under 2 that teaches them to become comfortable with water and how to basically save themselves if they fall in. They learn to flip themselves onto their back and kick until they run into something solid then they raise their arm over their head and grab it until someone comes. Cool, huh? Well I grew up around water my whole life and we hope to do the same with hallie so this week we started our swim class. It was a lot of fun although a little chilling after being in the water for close to an hours. We started learning how to float on our backs, grabbing the side, blowing bubbles underwater, and kicking. Hallie did great she is the youngest in her class ages ranging from 7 months to 2 years but the teacher said it's the best to start them young. It was even quite the workout for the moms. Hallie was so tired by the time we were done she fell asleep in her carseat before we even got to the freeway. Hopefully she will continue to learn useful tools so if she ever has to save herself she can. We got there a few minutes late so next time I will get more pics. On May 13 Hallie's 1st tooth popped through on the bottom left side and then on the 15th the bottom right side popped through when they are through so I can get a pic. She has been a little more fussy than usual but rightly so I think cutting teeth would hurt!

Daddy's Little Girl

So its not very often that daddy gets time with Hallie when I'm not around but when he does he sure makes the most of it. Saturday I had to work so Matt took hallie to buy a new lawn mower, and various other stuff. Matt wore his hat and said that Hallie was obsessed with it and just kept watching him so he put it on her and even thought to take a cute pic..he is the best. He is so good with her and I feel very blessed knowing that when I am away Hallie is in very good hands. I think every little girl needs some dad time.

Shopping is hard work

So today Hallie and I did our monthly big shopping trip. I was excited for 2 reasons first I love Walmart and any legitimate excuse I can find to go there is taken advantage of and second my mom made Hallie this graocery cart cover(talented I know I didn't get much of that). Hallie loved it and spent most of the time looking at all the colors and shapes plus I didn't worry about her sucking on it. So we shopped for quite a while and lost track of time I only noticed once we got in the car it was way past nap time. So we headed for home about five minutes after we left Walmart I looked back to see Hallie totally asleep, what a good girl not even a complain. At this point I am wondering if we can clone her or have her train the rest of our kids I would have 10 of her(well maybe not that many but she is the best baby). If you don't believe me come spend the day with us.

Aren't I cute? 7 months

I'm pretty bias but I think this little girl is possible the cutest thing ever and she is developing a personality to match. She turned 7 months last week, I can't believe that. Where does the time go? I think now that she sits on her own all the time she looks so grown up. The other day I was remembering when she would smile only occasionally and laugh occasionally but now she is full of both most of the time. She just keeps getting more fun. She loves to watch Little Einsteins or pretty much any sporting event(one of Matt's favorites). Over the last couple of weeks she has started if you stand in front of the tv while she is watching her show she tries to lean to the side and cock her head so she can see around you it is pretty funny. She eats about 1/3-1/2 a jar of baby food 3-4 times a day its so funny when we find something she really likes because you can't get it out of the jar fast enough. She continues to get more coordinated with her sippy cup. I am so loving being a stay at home mom and wish that every mom that wanted to could. I have been so blessed.

Don't turn your back

Yes, mom that is a strawberry in Hallie's mouth. So I looked down to get something out of the drawer last night and the strawberries that I thought were out of Hallie's reach...were not so out of her reach. These strawberries are bigger than Hallie's hand and watching her handle it was way to entertaining to take it away. Well I guess we know now that she isn't allergic to them.

Towel Time

When Hallie was little I took a lot more pics of her when in her cute bath towel because she looked so big in it well last night after we had our bath she was sitting on the bed looking so cute and I couldn't resist. She is getting bigger slowly but as far as developmental wise she is ahead of where her milestones say. She loves to sit and watch what is going on. She is currently trying to figure out how to get her legs and arms coordinated so she can actually move which I have total mixed feelings about...my baby is getting grown up. She loves to eat everything...well mostly mom and dads food. We just try to enjoy everyday because it brings all new adventures.
