A Day at the Lake

Sunday after Chris's Farewell

Hallie & her daddy

This past weekend Hallie spent her 1st day of many to come at the lake although not what were used to we still managed to have a good time. Matt's boss was nice enough to let us borrow his jetskis(which Matt loves). He rode them for quite a while he is like a kid at Christmas. The water was a little cool for Hallies liking but she did like to sit on the beach and attempt to eat the sand...I later found out she had eaten more than I thought. What a great day.

A Post just for Aunt Nikki

So for those of you that don't know my sister Nic and her husband went to sell alarms in Kansas City for the summer. We have missed seeing them a lot and I know they feel the same. While they have been gone Hallie has changed so much and so here you go Nic. I will try to post more videos although she seems to be pretty camera shy.

Cookie Monster

Step 1- Grab the cookies and try to take it

Step 2- When that doesn't work just eat it where it is!!!

Hallie has become increasingly interested in what Matt & I are eating lately. I made cookies and when Matt got home he put one in his mouth only to find that it had little hands attached to it. We laughed pretty hard when she grabbed it and it got even better when she tried to eat it while it was still in Matt's mouth. We also found out this weekend (15th) that Hallie can drink out of a straw and quite well.

A weekend getaway

Last weekend we were very excited to get away and do something fun so friday after work we headed for Las vegas with our good friends Nate & Anne. The drive actuall went quickly. Saturday we spent our time lying next to the pool, visiting, and eating to our hearts content...that is a true vacation to us. And just as we suspected Hallie is a true Norr and loves the water. Later that evening the whole family minus Hallie and Nic & Ky went to see the Lion King it was amzing to say the least and if you get the chance to go see it I would highly recommend it. Then we got some dinner and took Nate & Anne to see some of the Las Vegas sites.
This display is made of all flowers and they change the scene quite frequently. It was beautiful.

This display is made of all blown glass and is attached to the ceiling.

Our growing girl

So I have come to the relization that Hallie will probably walk before she crawls I came into the front room yesterday to find this! She definitely thinks she is bigger than I would like her to be.

Hallie's current happenings

Sorry folks no pics with this post I just mostly need to write things down so I can get them in Hallie's scrapbook later.
Hallie has started waving for about a week now it is so cute she mostly does it when Matt leave to go somewhere.
She also has started clapping also for about a week she claps about everything.
She can feed herself finger food which she has been doing for about a month to six weeks.
She refuses to crawl either by herself or with help she just wants to walk everywhere with help...maybe she will walk first?
She likes pretty much anything and everything you feed her.
She just gets more fun everyday

Matt & I were able to go up to Chris's graduation from Rapport. For those of you that don't know what Rapport is it is a leadership training unlike anything else out there and truely unless you have been it is hard to describe. But from what I have experienced and been told if anyone is ever offered the oppertunity to go take it! Chris was even named the most improved by the peers in his group. Way to go Chris we are very proud of you and know that it has made you an even better person and missionary.

The Past Week

Last Monday when I picked Hallie up from the babysitter I realized she was not quite herself and felt a little warm. Later that night I took her temp and found that it was 101.8 and was fussy. I called our ped and we ran through a bunch of scenarios and decided it was probably a virus and she was fine to watch unless things got worse. Well as most kids do it was a roller coaster and after several sleepless nights(which was a first Hallie has always slept through the night so this was a shock to my system)endless rocking/sleeping in the recliner, and endless cuddling Saturday morning she was back to her old self. Thanks to everyone that offered advice and assistance it was much appriciated.

Feature in a cookbook

Hallie is being featured a cookbook we took her last week to have some pictures taken these are the ones that will be in the cookbook. Here is the blog address if you want to see the rest of the pages for the cookbook www.fotozbylisa.blogspot.com. All proceeds go to the McKay Dee NICU.

Sandbox and gardening

How can you not love this face?

The sandbox hold lots of memories from when I was a kid. We spent hours building various castles and cities that included anything from trees, moats, people, and animals. So when we put the backyard together I knew we had to have one and although Hallie hasn't used it to the full potential there will be plenty of time for that later. We also planted a garden this year and daily Hallie and I water and weed it. I find it quite exciting that it is actually growing but we will see how long that lasts.

Golfing?!?

Yup, she has the ball in her mouth
I am not a golfer but Matt definitely is. Sunday Matt was in the back yard hitting some balls while Hallie and I were playing on the grass Hallie was instantly facinated and started pulling herself through the grass to get to him. After that she sat and watch him hit the ball while she held a golf ball of her own. I think these pics are priceless. She loves her daddy and apparently anything he is doing, it is very cute.

Strawberries

So since Hallie discovered strawberries if she sees them she is after them...I would guess she likes them. So I decided rather that having to spray everything she wears while eating them we would strip her down today she was so funny and really enjoyed it.

Our Weekend

Grandpa's new setup
So always plans don't always work out the way you think they will and this weekend was no exception. Matt & I had plans to take my grandpa his new bed on friday we figured it would take a couple of hours and we would be home in time to get Hallie to bed...that was the first idea that went wrong. We got there and the bed I had picked out was so tall that grandpa had to jump to get in and I think his exact words were, "I think I may fall out and break my neck." So we braced the mattress and brought the box spring back to Ogden to exchange Sat morning. Well on the way home we were witnesses to an accident and spent at least 20-40 minutes on the phone with 911, making sure everyone was ok, waiting for the police to show up, and giving our statements. By the time we got home it was about 10:00 and we were all overly tired. Saturday morning we went and exchanged the box spring out for a shorter one and headed back to Tremonton. We cleaned and reorganized grandpa's room as well as made curtains, and placed new pics in frames. After getting grandpa settled we headed to see our friends, Mindi and Corey and then of coarse we had to go visit grandma, grandpa, and chris. They were great enough to invite us to eat with them. Hallie loved having some one on one time with grandma and grandpa. We hope to do it again very soon.

A week with the fam

So this past week was a good one my Mom, Kim, & Maddi came to visit for the week. We played alot, shopped, did some projects, and visited family. I spent most of my week enjoying the time rather than packing around the camera. Towards the end of the week we had a BBQ at the Brower's Hallie found watermelon and although she doesn't seem to know what end to eat she liked it. I think its important to teach your kids that getting dirty is ok. I used to think that all kids knew how to do that but over the past couple of years have found that to not be true. I remember as a kid making mud pies and having sticky hands from various food that I probably should have eaten with a fork but didn't...that is part of being a kid isn't it? Well Hallie doesn't seem to have a problem with that and there will probably come times when I don't appriciate the mess but someday I will miss it.
This is one of the bows we made with grandma
