Our Easter Weekend

Thursday night Kim, Nic, Maddi, and Mom got her from their various destinations to spend the weekend with us. We had a chill night and Hallie did some cuddling and showing my mom and maddi her favorite shows(Leap Frog). Maddi also really liked Missy and spent most of the weekend holding or playing with her.

The Easter festivities started on Friday morning Kim didn't want Hallie to feel left out when Nic was opening all her presents so she brought her an easter present. This darling pink swimsuit with the ruffles I'm sure will be her favorite. She is getting more and more into girl things all the time.

Hallie is going to hate these pictures some day but this phase will only last so long or so we hope.

Last year at this time Hallie was to young to do easter egg hunts so this year was very exciting to be able to participate. So Friday night we headed to our first one in South Weber. They had the area taped off with caution tape to keep the kids out until it was time. I didn't know if Hallie would just stand there or gather tons of eggs without even looking back so when we got there Matt ran the camera while Nic, Kim and I "preped" Hallie. The only problem was that Hallie was way into it and wanted to get the eggs now! They were a little late getting started Hallie was being very impatient but when the horn rang she was off into get the eggs.

Hallie with her Daddy after the hunt

Saturday morning we dyed easter eggs and had breakfast before getting ready and heading to another easter egg hunt. We did eggs a little different this year we did what they call dinosaur eggs they turned out really good, they may become a tradition.

Then we headed to an different kind of Easter Egg hunt. At Manor Care the nursing home I used to manage they have special activities for holidays for families to bring their kids to interact with the residents. Growing up I remember being afraid of older people and I don't want Hallie to feel like that so we try to attend these activities often. It was awesome this year and I think Hallie had a blast. Initially she was scared because all of the older people wanted to hold her and talk to her but with some help from baskets of candy she warmed up quickly. They had a traditional egg hunt in the courtyard so the residents could watch the kids get the eggs then took them back inside to walk around a circle and get individual treats from the residents(kinda like trick or treating). All the older people kept calling for Hallie to come back for more and by the time we were done we had gone around the circle five times and had emptied her basket three times! Needless to say we got plenty of candy...more than we got at the other easter egg hunt!

All of Hallie's LOOT!
